Key facts about the elections

  • This election marks a turning point. Millennials now form the dominant voter group, ahead of baby boomers.
  • With added complexity due to the Canada Post labour dispute, cities and municipalities must find alternatives to reach voters. Elections Quebec has already decided to authorize the transmission of election-related documents by means other than door-to-door delivery.
  • In many areas, change will be the theme, as several long-serving elected officials will not be seeking a new mandate.

To date, more than 500 candidates have already been elected by acclamation.
