With a background as a midwife and health sociologist, Marie-Josée has combined her experiences and expertise. She has served as an expert advisor to the Ministry of Health and Social Services, as a clinical midwife, project manager, and trainer for major international humanitarian health organizations, and as a reproductive health researcher in Quebec, West Africa, and Haiti.
In recent years, she has been a key contributor to major health reforms and legislative changes in Quebec, notably for seniors, end-of-life care, women’s reproductive health, and the overhaul of the health network, all while maintaining her humanitarian commitments in Africa. This background gives her a sharp perspective on different health systems around the world and allows her to offer informed advice on major health issues and needs, care dynamics and professional practices, as well as the machinery of government. With the determination, passion, and integrity that everyone recognizes in her, she joined the Catapulte team to continue humanizing and improving the efficiency of health and social services while promoting social acceptability.
